MARKETING TERMINALS

NRL has two state-of-the-art Marketing Terminals, one at Numaligarh (NRMT) and the other at Siliguri (SMT) for the distribution of products to its customers. NRL's major Refinery products are marketed through PSU Oil Marketing Companies as well as private oil companies.

In addition, NRL is involved in direct sale of products to customers comprising companies like OIL, ONGC, NALCO, HINDALCO, GAIL, Tea Gardens and private companies. NRL has a long term agreement with Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) for exporting Gas Oil (HSD) through the India Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) which was inaugurated by Prime Ministers of both countries on 18th March 2023.

Over the years, NRL has been able to live up to its reputation as a credible supplier in terms of quality and quantity. The Company maintains high level of transparency and efficiency in its business transactions.

Numaligarh Refinery Marketing Terminal (NRMT)

NRMT plays a vital role in evacuation of products from the Refinery by Road, Rail as well as the Numaligarh Siliguri Pipeline (NSPL). Products handled at NRMT comprises HSD, MS, SKO, ATF, LPG, RPC, CPC, Sulphur, MTO, Wash Oil and Wax. NRMT is equipped to handle receipt of crude oil, bulk LPG and blend components for MS production. NRMT loading operations are supported through Terminal Automation System (TAS) involving supervisory data management and control systems that consist of data acquisition hardware, computer terminals, card readers, database servers interfaced with the business application software of SAP.

The security of the terminal is manned by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) round the clock. CCTV's are installed at vital locations and are monitored from different consoles. In addition, NRL's own staff are deployed for round the clock supervisory work.

Currently, NRL is operating in double-shift with loading carried out from 6:00 am till 10:00 pm.


The licensed capacities of NRMT are as follows:

2. Class -B Product: 1,09,640 KL

3. LPG Bulk Storage: 4 x 1025.615 MT

4. LPG Bottling Plant: 24 carousal unit

5. CPC Warehouse: 10,000 MT

6. Wax Pastillation Unit: 28,800 MT

NRMT is operated round the clock to facilitate various product handling, loading and unloading activities.

Siliguri Marketing Terminal

The Siliguri Marketing Terminal receive products through the Numaligarh Siliguri Pipeline (NSPL) of 1.721 MMTPA capacity which is owned and operated by Oil India Limited (OIL).

3. Road Loading Gantry

Road loading facility is designed to meet local demand around Siliguri and adjacent markets in Sikkim and Bhutan.

4. Rail Loading Facility (Single Spur)

SMT has facilities for loading full BTPN Tank Wagon rakes with White Oil products, viz. MS, HSD and SKO. The Terminal has facilities to unload HSD and SKO Tank wagons.

Tank Wagon rakes with Gas Oil (HSD) are also being exported to Bangladesh from SMT. In the near future, export to Bangladesh will take place through a new 1.0 MMTPA capacity 130 km India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) from SMT to Parbatipur in Bangladesh. The pipeline is in final stage of completion.

5. Laboratory Facilities:

SMT has a NABL accredited Laboratory for certification of products before despatch from the terminal. Additionally, it is also equipped to handle Marketing Discipline Guidelines (MDG) Retail Outlet samples.
