Energy Policy


We at NRL have the highest concern and commitment for conservation of Energy and preservation of our environment & we shall continuously endeavour to reduce the consumption of energy in any form without impairing productivity and commit to develop, implement and sustain Energy Management as a movement through participation at all levels by:

  • Complying with all the 'statutory regulations and acts' pertaining to energy conservation and a commitment to fulfilment of 'other requirements' in the field of energy management and energy efficiency.
  • Considering energy management aspects as an integral part of all our activities relating to refining, storage, and despatch of petroleum products.
  • Remaining at the technological forefront through continuous up gradation of in-house expertise and absorption of latest technologies with respect to energy management and encouraging renewable energy/recovered energy use.
  • Continuously reviewing the energy consumption norms and benchmarking with the best in the refining industry. Periodically carrying out the energy audits and promptly correcting the deficiencies
  • Reviewing all initiatives & new projects with respect to energy conservation and adopting energy efficient technologies by ensuring purchases of energy efficient products, services and design for energy performance improvement.
  • Fostering the spirit of participation by all employees in energy conservation efforts. Imparting regular training to create awareness amongst employees on efficient use of energy. Undertaking social responsibility to educate, share and promote energy and environment conservation aspects with others in the vicinity and
  • Ensuring the availability of information and of necessary resources to achieve the objectives & targets.
