As a part of efforts towards continuous improvement in energy conservation and overall efficiency of plant operations, NRL is installing a 12 MW STG at a project cost of Rs. 38.52 crores to generate power from surplus steam available in the Refinery. Installation of the STG shall result in savings of Naphtha as fuel in the existing Gas Turbine Generators with corresponding reduction in Green House Gas (GHG) emissions (CO 2). The project has been successfully registered with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The project is in final stage of completion.
