Numaligarh Refinery Township occupying more than 250 acres of undulating terrain and separated from the Refinery by a few kilometres was constructed without disturbing the picturesque landscape unique to the area. This has served the dual purpose of preserving the natural profile, as well as adding to the aesthetic beauty to the township.

Nestled among the luxuriant hills, the pretty township houses almost all the NRL employees and their families. The Township has all the modern facilities within its boundary limits. Apart from the basic necessities of Residential quarters, Hospital and School, the Township has a Co-operative society which caters to the day to day needs of its residents. Well maintained parks, open spaces and entertainment facilities like the Club , Community Centre, swimming pools, gyms, tennis courts, playgrounds make for a good and comfortable living experience.

Established in the year 1997, the prestigious Delhi Public School, Numaligarh which is situated inside the Township premises has already made a mark as an educational institute to reckon with. Affiliated to the CBSE, the School imparts quality education for students from Nursery to Class XII. Apart from academics, the school pays special attention to identify and nurture latent talents amongst its students and steer them in the right direction. The healing touch of the hospital has extended beyond its frontiers and touched the underprivileged section of the people of the nearby villages of the Refinery, where it holds mobile medical camps regularly .
